How To Stay Motivated During Social Distancing

It’s fair to say a lot has changed in a very short space of time. From heading out with friends and sitting with colleagues at work, we’ve all had to adapt massively during a very difficult time. Now we have finally seen the opening of offices and workplaces, it presents us with a new normal that we learn to live with.

The COVID journey isn’t over yet, with no end date in sight so all we can do is take each day as it comes and work with the new guidelines. With many working from home and others returning to the office with a new dynamic, is it possible to be as motivated as before and what can you do to boost morale and keep positive?

Create a productive environment

We know it’s not the same as before, but all we can do is make the best out of a bad situation. Your office layout will be different and you might find you’re sitting well away from others, but in order to work well, we suggest creating a productive workspace.

You can achieve this by adding desktop screening, keeping your desk clean and clear, add a small plant and make sure your desk and seat are set up comfortably for you.

Why bring a plant? The sight of plans has shown a decrease in stress levels.

Keep in touch

Whether your favourite work colleagues are at home or your missing out on the interaction due to split shifts – there’s always something you can do about it.

Use the technology we’re very lucky to have available to us. Set up zoom meetings, catch up’s and team meetings to keep in regular contact with your team. It’s great to laugh, to feel connected and to catch up with those you might not have seen for many months.

Tackle those projects

Now could be a better time than any to work on new projects or tackle those harder jobs you haven’t managed to get round to. With potentially more time to work on different aspects of the business delve into that big job you’ve been meaning to complete.

Nothing is more satisfying then ticking tasks off the to-do list and pushing your mental boundaries to create some high-quality work.
